The Kauffman Memorial Garden

If you're ever in Kansas City, Missouri, you might try stopping by the Kauffman Memorial Garden, a pretty area near where Mac had lived and a place he visited from time to time. The above photo was taken by him and can be found here
It is also the place his ashes were scattered... I'm inclined to think, like stardust.

Above is a picture of the resident Kauffman Garden feral cat. Mac named him "Crazy" and took the photo above. Note it's striking resemblance to Ebe (which stands for Extraterrestrial Biological Entity, in case you wondered). The photo can be found here. (Okay, it's not the most charming of kitty photo's, but I bet Mac was pleased he had "captured the moment"!)

You might try visiting in the summer... then you'll probably find Crazy chasing butterflies. And, if you look very carefully and slightly askance, you might notice two other cats watching from a distance... One of whom looks suspiciously like it might be Crazy's twin.

And, if you're really lucky, you just might find a tall young man in a black fedora standing nearby. He's just passing through, too, you understand... for a chance meeting with some friends.

(My special thanks to Paula Corte and Andrea Ring for their input and advice.)
