A MAC TONNIES MEMORIAL & 7 YEAR POST-MAC TIME CAPSULE
I think ToB is doing the best job possible of taking up Mac's mantle. Whether that was the aim or not, that's become my go-to blog for new stuff with the PHB feel. Sigh.
Thanks very much guys, that is really high praise! Very kind of you. Your blogs are equally wonderful, and tributes to the things Mac Tonnies talked about. I am sorry I never knew him. I followed his blog on and off for years when I lived abroad - a voice that kept coming up in my google searches. My main concern has been that I didn't want to live through the turn of a millennium and not get it, or miss it, or miss the point, whatever that is.We are all trying to comprehend the dawn of a new age. Sometimes I wish it didn't involve so much in the way of low-grade existential crises, even though the world is virtually at one's doorstep.
PHB was Mac Tonnies and Mac Tonnies was PHB... there will never be another. That being said, there are a number of people who are keeping his memory alive online... one way or another... I think Mac would be touched to know that so many people still care... and are still "dispersing" his memes.I'm hoping he does know...Meanwhile, we soldier on.Thanks, ToB... HOTTC is a great blog... (I'm walking in fields of lavender today - ahhh...) http://historiesofthingstocome.blogspot.com/2011/08/late-summer-interlude.htmlAnd best of the luck with the book, K, in its present and future forms. When it hits meatspace I'll post notice of it here.http://suppertimesonnets.blogspot.com/2011/08/in-which-i-offer-to-e-sign-your-e-books.html
